Postdoctoral Researcher Agri Economist Role
The Kemmy Business School at the University of Limerick are recruiting a postdoctoral researcher in agricultural economics. The candidate must have a PhD or be close to completion. This will be an 11-month position beginning on May 1st. The role relates to funding received under the HEA North-South Research Programme and it is focused on evaluating the design and implementation of a financing instrument that can be used to scale up native afforestation in Ireland. The person appointed to this position will have responsibility for undertaking stakeholder analysis, among farmers, forestry companies and potential bond investors as well as designing/administering a survey to elicit stakeholder preferences for such a novel instrument. Familiarity with non-market valuation methods such as Discrete Choice Experiments/Contingent Valuation as well as econometric methods such as discrete choice models is desirable.

Research MSc Opportunity
The research MSc is part of an international multi-disciplinary project (SmartDairy) that assesses challenges, explores innovations, and creates new solutions to achieve a climate-smart dairy system. SmartDairy includes partners from Ireland, the UK, Italy and Finland. The main objective of this part of the project is to explore and test the implementation of carbon markets along the dairy supply chain. More information can be found here.
